Tyr How to Play Tempest

Five shells, a teleport, and a turret that wants a lip — not a brawl.

Tempest Recall and Clip Playbook

Tempest is the medium the community already treated as a teacher hull: hull-down turret armor, a five-shell autoloader, 21% camo, and Recall. Your job is not frontline assault. Your job is to draw one or two tanks off the main line, dump a green clip, and vanish before they collect the trade. Parent roster: medium tanks. Rank snapshot: medium tier list. Energy math: energy.

Recall, without dying on the gate

You start with a gate at your base. Plant a second, drive it, teleport home. The old gate dies. Enemies can capture your gate like a pickup. Do not leave a glowing teleport in a scout lane. Ping the gate if you must share it. Ping wheel.

Place the second gate where you can reset after a peek, not in the open on Divide. If a light is sitting on it, you just donated a taxi.

The five-shell clip

All five must be green or you bloomed 21% camo for bounces. Energy Shells in tertiary are halved on clip tanks. Buy them only if Recall is starving. Silenced shells keep bushes honest; Tempest is not Fuse. Builds.

Turret can keep up with hull rotation (rare; shared with Alecto, Fuse, Atlas). You can track while you peek. That is a gift. Do not spend it spinning in the open.

Maps

Ravine’s dune lip is the textbook. Scorch works if a light is already spotting. Divide punishes unsilenced dumps. Customs Dunes is a camo exam — Recall out, do not ego. Maps.

First-hour drill

Sandbox: Alt armor, five greens on a dummy, plant a gate, Recall, plant again. Live match: one pull, one clip, one Recall. If you die with the home gate unused, you played a five-shot Arbalest. How to play still owns lives and caps.

Ranger now has finished Alpha components if you want ramps instead of teleports. Seeker is still clay. Tempest is the medium you learn before you argue S-tier in Discord.

Clan chat will not save a gate you planted in Fuse’s bush. Ping the lip, dump greens, Recall, and be the overtime HP that a dead Deadeye cannot be. That is the whole playbook.

If you came from World of Tanks, forget the fifteen-minute hull-down stare. Tempest’s clip is a burst, not a farm. Count to five greens, then leave. If the enemy Tempest is doing the same thing to you, steal their gate — it captures like a pad. Pair with a light that pings the hill before you crest. Without that ping you are a 21% camo billboard. Components that help relocate beat heroic ram parts. Vehicle Mastery titles after 20 do not change Recall. When Ranger’s Cascade Gate looks tempting, remember ramps are height and Recall is a reset; they are different verbs. Learn this hull first, then argue the medium tier list.

Patch context: Ranger’s three new components do not steal Tempest’s job. Ramps are height; Recall is a reset. Seeker Snitch is still Alpha clay. Your five-shell drum is finished content. After you clan up, the ping wheel is how the pug sees the lip you want. After you die, spectate or leave — one life, no hero respawn. How to play remains the parent for caps and overtime. This page is only the medium that made hull-down a verb in Tyr.
