Tyr Early Access
What Stoke is shipping on September 2, 2026, and what is still allowed to change.
Tyr’s Early Access date is September 2, 2026. The game is free-to-play on Steam, developed and published by Stoke Games, Windows 10/11 only in the public spec. This page is the launch briefing. Patch desk: updates hub. Cosmetics: Founder’s Pack. How to fight: how to play.
Why Early Access, in Stoke’s words
They want to iterate on mechanics, balance, and content with a live community after years of invite playtests. They expect about twelve months before a full launch, and they will slip that if polish needs it. The live branch is described as stable, with more than twelve unlockable tanks and five maps, plus the features listed on the Steam store: unique armor profiles, tech trees, Keystone tech, asymmetric vision, unique abilities, and “strategy beats twitch.”
Full launch is planned to add more tanks, more maps, and more systems. That is a promise of volume, not of a specific nineteenth hull.
What you should expect on day one
- 8v8, one life, ten-minute clock, wipe or 100% cap or overtime.
- Squad size three (they have talked about four later).
- Sandbox always, live queues when matchmaking is up.
- English client audio/interface on Steam.
- SLVR + XP progression, Vehicle Mastery after 20, Alpha tanks like Seeker still labeled experimental.
- No local split-screen. Online PvP only.
If you never playtested, start in Sandbox, then one live match as a light or a simple medium. Do not skip-unlock the garage.
What playtesters keep
Stoke said cosmetics, unlocks, and progression carry over with no planned account wipe. Log in, verify the hulls, then spend new SLVR on ammo. If a wipe ever happens, it will be a Steam news item, not a rumor on this page.
Invite codes were a playtest-era access tool (Discord invites, random Steam waves). Early Access is a store install. Do not sit in Discord begging for a code on launch day unless Stoke reopens a gated branch.
Founder’s Pack timing
The pack is scheduled to appear with Early Access at $14.99: 3,000 Gold (Stoke values Gold at $1 per 100, so they pitch $30 of Gold plus a founder title and golden charm). Optional. Temporary. Not expected in the same form after Early Access ends. Gameplay content stays free. Full breakdown: Founder’s Pack.
How long will queues feel like playtests?
Playtests were weekend windows. Early Access is meant to be the always-on version of that. Population will still swing with patches and creator cups. Custom games with share codes exist for tryouts. If Standard is quiet, Sandbox still teaches armor.
Spec and language
System requirements — GTX 1070 min, 2060 recommended. Steam language list is English. This wiki is also in French, German, and Spanish because pilots search in those languages; the client may not.
What we will not claim
We will not claim a 1.0 date inside the twelve-month window. We will not claim console. We will not claim a Roblox port. We will not claim that Early Access is “finished content.” The IGN release-window trailer on this page is atmosphere and intent. The numbers you fight with live on spotting, Energy, and the roster.
If you only read one extra page after this, read how to play and then go die in Sandbox until green and gray make sense. Early Access rewards the people who already learned that during the invite years — you can still catch them with bushes and patience.
