Tyr System Requirements
Steam PC specs for the 8v8 tank shooter — min, recommended, and what actually matters in a ridge fight.
Tyr is a Windows PC game on Steam. There is no console SKU in the public materials, and there is no mobile client. If someone sent you a Roblox link, they have the wrong Tyr. Official storefront: Steam app 2445260. This page copies the Steam spec table and then translates it into “will I drop frames when a heavy crests.” Parent hub: tools.
Minimum
- OS: Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- RAM: 8 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 580
- API: DirectX 12
- Network: Broadband (online PvP only)
- Storage: 4 GB
The CPU line is higher than a lot of free-to-play shooters. i7-8700K / 5600X is a six-core 2017–2020 class chip. If you are on a dual-core laptop i5 from 2016, do not expect a clean 60. The GPU line is 8 GB-class Pascal / Polaris. Integrated graphics are not listed and should be treated as unsupported.
Recommended
- OS: Windows 10/11, 64-bit
- CPU: same examples as minimum (i7-8700K / Ryzen 5 5600X)
- RAM: 16 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
- API: DirectX 12
- Network: Broadband
- Storage: 4 GB
Recommended RAM doubling is the practical upgrade. Eight gigabytes with Chrome and Discord open will hitch when eight hulls plus abilities plus bushes load on Ravine. Sixteen is the line where the client is not fighting your browser.
What the spec does not say
Steam Deck compatibility is listed as unknown. There is no Mac or Linux checkbox on the public page. Family Sharing notes on SteamDB called the title excluded while it was still prerelease; re-check the store if you care about sharing after Early Access opens.
Stoke’s language support on Steam is English with full audio. This wiki still localizes guides, but the client strings you see in-game may stay English.
Settings that matter more than a new GPU
Tyr is a game about seeing a dashed 400 m circle and a solid camo circle. If your frame time spikes when you ADS, you will miss the green pixel on a cupola. Turn down shadows and foliage first; bushes are a gameplay object (50% camo) but ultra foliage on a 1070 is how you lose spotting fights. Keep the minimap large enough to read both rings. Controls cover HUD and replay toggles.
A 1070 at 1080p medium that holds 60 will beat a 4070 at 4K that dips to 40 when Atlas Sonar lights four targets. Cap FPS to your monitor. Input lag from an overloaded box feels like “I penned and it bounced” when you actually shot gray.
Network
Matches are online 8v8. There is no offline campaign. Packet loss on a capture tick is a thrown overtime. Wired Ethernet is worth more than a cosmetic Founder’s charm. Squads need all three players stable; see community.
Disk and installs
Four gigabytes is small. Still install on an SSD if you have one — garage-to-map loads and replay scrubbing are nicer. Replays live outside the install, under AppData Local Tyr Saved Demos, and only keep ten files.
After you can run it
Specs do not teach capture math. Go to how to play, then pick a hull on the roster. If you pass min spec and still cannot see enemies, that is vision design, not your GPU. If you fail min spec, lower settings before you spend Gold on the Founder’s Pack — Gold will not buy frames.
