Tyr Builds and Loadouts

Ammo, components, and Keystones — spend SLVR like it is scarce, because it is.

Loadouts and Build Guide

A Tyr “build” is not a MOBA skill order. It is the ammo in your shell slots, the components on the hull, the tech-tree nodes, and the late Keystone that can change the tank’s identity. SLVR buys the non-default pieces. Gold buys styles, charms, and kill VFX — see the Founder’s Pack. If you mix those currencies you will own a golden hull with stock ammo. Parent ranks: tier list. Shopping UI: build planner.

Shell slots

Tanks have ammo slots including a tertiary. Community Energy math says Energy Shells in tertiary grant +7 Energy on damage on top of the 3.5% convert, halved on clip guns (Ikarus 4, Kestrel 3, Deadeye 2, Tempest 5). Silenced shells exist so a scout can shoot without dumping the 50% bush camo bonus. Standard AP-style rounds are the green-paint teachers. Do not fill every slot with Energy shells on a clip medium and then wonder why you cannot pen Fortis.

Rule of thumb:

  • Lights: silenced primary, Energy or assist-friendly tertiary if you actually farm spots.
  • Mediums: pen first, Energy shells only if the ability (Recall, ramp, bush) is the win condition.
  • Heavies: pen and tracks. You already farm Energy by bouncing.

Components and nodes

Components are the gear that changes camo, traverse, Energy gain, or module HP. Lights and mediums can take nodes that grant Energy just for spotting. Heavies can take nodes that magnify the 0.5% bounce/taken convert. That split is why a Fuse build and a Fortis build should not share a screenshot. Details of the convert live on Energy.

If a node says it helps hull traverse, remember only Alecto, Fuse, Tempest, and Atlas have turrets that naturally keep up. Other hulls need you to stop turning to aim. A traverse node on Kestrel is a different conversation than on Atlas.

Keystone tech

Stoke’s store copy: max-level a tank to unlock Keystone tech that dynamically changes your personal meta. Treat Keystone as a second identity, not a stat stick. Do not buy a Keystone because it is orange in the tree. Drive the hull to a point where you can name the problem (“I cannot relocate after a clip”) and pick the Keystone that answers it. Vehicle Mastery after level 20 adds titles; it is not a Keystone.

SLVR budget for the first week

  1. Do not skip-unlock five hulls.
  2. Sandbox the class pages: lights, mediums, heavies.
  3. Buy silenced or Energy shells for one tank.
  4. Buy the component that matches the job (spot Energy vs bounce Energy).
  5. Sit on the rest until you have ten live matches and a sense of maps.

Playtesters who ignored this spent SLVR on a garage and then could not afford the ammo that made Fuse actually Fuse.

Cosmetics are not builds

Tank Styles (skins) from playtest patches — Arbalest Zero, Maul Reentry, Atlas Kingmaker, Kestrel Venom — do not change camo or clip size. The cosmetics video on this page is useful for knowing what Gold buys. It is useless as a damage guide. Kill VFX are the same bucket.

Example loadout sketches (not gospel)

  • Fuse spotter: silenced shells, spotting-Energy node, no heroic ram component.
  • Tempest relocate: clip pen, halved Energy shells if Recall is starving, hull-down practice in armor.
  • Seeker Alpha: Snitch-first Energy, accept that the kit will patch.
  • Fortis wall: bounce-Energy nodes, ignore camo modules that will never make you Fuse.
  • Ranger enabler: keep enough Energy for a ramp exit, not only a ramp entry.

When a patch hits, rebuild the tertiary slot first, then nodes, then Keystone. Rank shifts land on the light list and medium list. If you are still dying with stock ammo, skip the tier argument and finish how to play.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for new Tyr pilots and returning playtesters.

What currency buys Tyr builds?

SLVR buys shells and components. Gold buys cosmetics. XP levels the hull and unlock track.

Are Energy Shells worth it on Tempest?

The +7 is halved on clip tanks. Buy them if Recall is starving, not as a default.

Do skins change stats?

No. Tank Styles are cosmetic. See Founder's Pack for Gold bundles.

When do I take Keystone tech?

After you can name a problem the Keystone solves. It is a meta swap at max level, not a day-one purchase.
